Garbage Collection

Does Silver Creek Community offer garbage collection?

Silver Creek Community does not currently have a garbage collection system. Silver Creek Community is located within the Burke County, NC area, and is able to take advantage of the Burke County Garbage Collection sites as part of the taxes paid.

Silver Creek Community is just a short drive to the closest collection facility, located at 3251 US-64, Morganton, NC 28655.

Library

What library resources are available?

There are three public libraries within Burke County. They are located in Hildebran, Morganton, and Valdese. The closest public library to Silver Creek Community is located in downtown Morganton at 204 S. King Street Morganton, NC 28655.

Pool Regulations

The Silver Creek Community Property Owner’s Association Swimming Pools is a privately-owned recreation entity, entirely funded by paying members.

Schools

The Silver Creek Springs Community is zoned for the following schools: Elementary – W.A. Young
Middle – Liberty
High – Robert L. Patton

Morganton also is home to Western Piedmont Community College.

Where can I go shopping?

Downtown Morganton contains an abundance of boutique shops, furniture shops, restaurants, and more. For a current listing of shops, visit www.downtownmorganton.com.

To get to Downtown Morganton, leave Silver Creek Community by turning right from Roper Hollow Road onto US Hwy 64. Continue 7 miles, and you will enter downtown, just 2.4 miles past Interstate 40.


Just before you get to downtown Morganton, you will find a Lowes on the left (1224 Burkemont Ave, Morganton, NC 28655), Food Lion (1230 Burkemont Ave, Morganton, NC 28655) and several fast food restaurants (Chick-Fil-A, Cook Out, Subway, etc.) along with the Morganton Public Safety (Fire/Police) station.

Turn left at Highway 64-Bypass (The NC School of Deaf will be on your right) and just one stoplight down is a 24-hour Wal-Mart (G120 Morganton Heights Blvd., Morganton, NC 28655) along with many shops, in the Morganton Heights shopping center. Located along the road is an Applebee’s and Golden Corral restaurants.
