Welcome to Our Mountain…
Hidden away on a mountaintop in western North Carolina, deep in a forest of towering hardwoods, is a unique community… This is the way one of the original brochures for Silver Creek begins.
Silver Creek Community is located in the South Mountains near the Blue Ridge Parkway and directly off U.S. Highway 64. Only nine miles from Morganton, NC, the community is within a short driving distance from famed attractions such as Blowing Rock, Grandfather Mountain, Linville Falls and beautiful Lake James.
At the heart of the community, at an elevation of over 2500 feet, is our lodge, cabana and pool. Where else can you take a cool dip in a pool and have before you a view of the beautiful mountains, even viewing Mt. Mitchell, the highest peak in the eastern United States. This is truly a one-of-a-kind community.
Mountain Roads
We have some reminders we’d like to share with all traversing the mountain. Please keep your speed to 15 mph and under. While driving the turns please take them wide to avoid damaging the road.
Remember, the vehicle ascending the mountain has the right of way. The vehicle coming down the mountain should carefully pull to one side of the road, stop and allow the vehicle coming up the road to pass. This minimizes the potential for wheel spin when starting up on an incline and saves the gravel base of our road.
Please share this with your guests or contractors as they join us on the mountain. Courtesy is important and safety is our number one concern.
